Best IB School Rankings in England 2020

IB (or International Baccalaureate) is a worldwide recognized pre-university program. It teaches pupils to think analytically, be responsible, curious, and strive to know more deeply. IB school rankings in England include a variety of options for foreigners. So, let’s discuss everything in detail.

What is IB?

IB is a universal schooling system that was developed in 1968 in Switzerland. IB was created as an ideal system of secondary education for many states. World-known experts participated in its development, which means that this teaching approach has absorbed the best elements of various educational systems. Today, teaching under this program is conducted in 112 states of the world.

The IB in the UK is divided into 3 stages:

  •  Primary Years (3-12 years);
  •  Middle Years (11 – 16 years old);
  •  Diploma (16 – 19 years old).

In most countries, international undergraduates are taught in English, Spanish, German, or French. The diploma is recognized worldwide, which means that applicants are accepted without exams to most institutes in the world – the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, France, and Belgium, etc.

The main feature of this system of education is that the exams assess not the level of knowledge but the progress of pupils during the reporting period. It strengthens motivation and develops curiosity. Therefore, the level of knowledge of an IB graduate is usually higher.

  10. Sevenoaks School.

The diploma owner of any of the above-listed institutions can be approved without exams to any of the universities participating in the program. Hopefully, there are plenty of them: about two thousand universities in different countries of the world accept an IB certificate. This list includes Harvard, Oxford, Princeton, Imperial College London, Cambridge, and the National University of Singapore.

IB is valuable because it teaches you to study independently, analyze information, develop research skills, and strengthen educational motivation. Two key skills that pupils receive are critical thinking and self-education. Additionally, teaching in English means that by the end of the program, speaking and writing skills of the kid will be at a very good level.

If you still don’t know which school is suitable for your kid – focus on the skills and abilities and make your choice accordingly.
